Dam Deformation Monitoring using Cloud-Based P-SBAS Algorithm: The Kramis Dam Case (Algeria)

This paper presents the application of Parallel Small Baseline Subset (P-SBAS) algorithm, provided by Geohazards Exploitation Platform for precise monitoring an earth dam's ground deformation using C-band Sentinel-1 data. The test site object this study was Kramis dam, located in Mostaganem State, Western Algeria. Among multiple advanced DInSAR techniques, SBAS is very adequate long-term displacement areas with changing terrain and vegetation. Ten corner reflectors were installed as a backscattered radar signal amplification tool to reduce effect temporal decorrelation delineate dam area. Four A B satellite tracks available (T30, T37, T103, T110) measure displacements, Line Site (LoS) direction, two years since installation CRs July 2019. results showed subsiding area on left bank dike, velocity 4mm/yr, uplifting rate 3-4mm/yr upper part dike. entire 3-dimensional vector vicinity estimated least-squares method, proving better understanding deformation, particularly dams high exposure factor associated risk.
